This is all about the visual image. That first impact when you see the cover of a book, and the brilliant idea of the host blog ,
The Book Worms. This book from J. R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series is the story of Payne and Manny. What strikes me when I look at this cover are the eyes of Payne. They actually tell a great deal of her story without reading the first written word. These are the eyes of a warrior savoring her first true taste of freedom, and even though the male stands protectively in front of his mate, it is only because his mate allows it. Even if I had not already been a rabid fan of this series, this cover would have enticed me to read it.
