UAE: Housemaid found dead with throat cut

Fujairah - A housemaid was found dead with her throat slit with a knife at her sponsor's house in Al Bidya area. According to a report in Gulf News, Fujairah Police's Operations Room received a call on Sunday night at 11:15pm from an Emirati saying his housemaid was found lying in a pool of blood in her bathroom. The African housemaid, identified as FM in her thirties, was found dead with a deep cut on her neck while the knife was lying next to her on the ground. Her body was transferred to the hospital for forensic examination. Dibba Al Fujairah Public Prosecution is investigating to determine whether it is a suicide or not. Preliminary investigations revealed that the housemaid had absconded from her sponsor's house for a few days before the incident. She was found by the police after the sponsor filed an absconding case. She reportedly apologised to the sponsor for fleeing and was taken back by the family. Full Story>>
